About
Identity Outreach's History
Identity Outreach began with two people who understood the struggles families face and wanted to create something different something personal, intentional, and truly life-changing. What started as a simple desire to help has grown into a mission grounded in real experience, real conversations, and real community. We built Identity Outreach to be the place we once needed ourselves: a space where youth feel safe to grow, families feel supported, and no one has to navigate life alone. Today, that same energy fuels everything we do—authentic relationships, honest guidance, and a commitment to showing up with compassion and consistency every single day
2.3
Million
According to recent statistics, there were 2.3 million single fathers living with their children in 2020, representing 17% of all single-parent households. Further research reveals that 4 out of 10 (40.9%) are separated, divorced or widowed and around 36% live below the poverty line.
20%
of American Children
In any given year, 20% of American children will be diagnosed with a mental illness. The term "mental illness" is not entirely accurate, because there are many "physical" factors -- including heredity and brain chemistry -- that might be involved in the development of a mental disorder.
46%
of all Children
46% of all children - over 24 million, or close to one-half of the child population - report having at least one of these seven at-risk factors in their life. Across the various subpopulations, there are some strong differences in the levels of risk children are exposed to.
